She then attended and played at John Newcombe Tennis Academy in New Braunfels, Texas. She helped the school advanced to the IHSA Class 2A state playoffs. Kostadinova is from Willow Springs, Ill., and began her tennis career at Lyons Township High School where she was the number one singles player on the team during her freshman and sophomore years. 290 in the Spanish national rankings and was the winner of the Island Regional Tournament. She helped lead the team to a 10th place finish at nationals.
She comes to EIU from Eastern Florida State College where she was a NJCAA National's Semifinalist in 2023 Division I tournament. Renovales Salazar is from Los Mochis, Mexico and attended IES Tias in the Canary Islands (Spain) for high school.
She also helped lead her team to a state runner-up title in 2022 and a Division 2-A Regional Championship. As a high school player she was the Commercial Appeal Girl's Tennis Player of the Year finishing as the individual state runner-up. She earned ITA Scholar Athlete honors for her work in the classroom. She was named the Most Outstanding Freshman and led the team with five wins playing at the number two and three spots in the order. She comes to EIU as a transfer after playing at Prairie View A&M last season. Wooten is from Lakeland, Tenn., and attended St. Set to join the Panthers are Aleyla Wooten, Luisa Renovales Salazar and Michelle Kostadinova. Eastern Illinois director of tennis Paul Jarzynka has announced the addition of three players to the women's tennis roster for this upcoming season.
